Three methods of local wear repair
1.Rubber Patching: The biggest advantage of using of rubber patching that came from the German technology is the fast repair speed. Its downside is that the rubber usually falls off after 60-90 days. What’ more, if the conveyor belt operats in a moist environment, the water vapor will accumulate in the gap between the bonding surfaces and rust the steel wire ropes. It will rust and break the wire rope for a long time, and even cause the breakage of the whole conveyor belt . In addition, this repair method costs a lot.
2.Local Rubber Vulcanization: The partial damage place is vulcanized by the small vulcanizing device. Due to the size of the vulcanizing device, repairing speed is only about 05M/H. This method is not suitable for long-distance reparation.
Rubber Repair Adhesive Covering : The rubber repair adhesive produced at home and abroad is two-component polyurethane adhesive liquidhome and abroad. After mixing the two together, they are filled into the worn surface, and they can form an elastomer that is similar to rubber in a certain time.The time required for curing is generally 5-6h, which is related to the temperature. Laboratory data indicated that the peeling strengthcan reach 6kn/m180 degree, so the combination of repair surface and sealing is pretty good, and do not happen the situation that water vapor cracks into the binding surface and rusts wire rope. What’s more favorable is that its wear resistance is is quite excellent. And the superior wear resistance is the key requirement of the conveyor belt local wear repair. In summary, this method is the most effective way to repair the local wear of conveyor belt.
Through the comparison of three kinds of patching methods and the practice of repairing, we believe that the rubber repair adhesive covering is the most effective method. Furthermore, it can effectively prevent the corrosion of Teflon conveyor belt,which willl result in belt breakage accident.
